Unmarked (Foster Bros?) 11.75” Bullnose Scimitar Carbon Steel Beechwood USA 1930’s-50’s
Vintage hand forged carbon steel bullnose scimitar (a curved bullnose rather than straight spine/edge bullnose) that has been re-ground here at Bernal Cutlery with a convex face ground fairly thin behind the edge.
The geometry of the blade looks a lot like a Foster Bros pattern which was made in 10 and 12" lengths, this is likely a sharpened down 12".
Blade is straight and sharp, it has definitly been used heavily, but not abused, there was some light rust leaving some shallow pits but nothing too heavy and glaring defects.
