Southern & Richardson Carving Set Shear Steel & Celluloid In Box Sheffield 1920s

Southern & Richardson carving set in original box made approximately in the 1920s, possibly late 19th or early 20th C. 

Box shows some wear but otherwise the set is in great condition, knife is very full and has not seen too much rust, there are some tiny pits on the mark side of the blade, and a few deeper spots opposite, it has not been heavily buffed or had its surface re-ground. Blade is very full, not much has been sharpened away, the puddle weld is barely visible but there, showing that it is forged with a shear steel blade and an iron bolster and tang.  Steel and fork are also in great shape, fork has an ingenious weighted guard that flips open when held down and can be locked open. 

Imitation ivory "French ivory" celluloid handles are in great shape, a small amount of shrinking at the bolsters and some wear but otherwise solid and clean.
