Nichols Bros 11.5" Scimitar Shear Steel Greenfield Mass 1880s-1920

Hand forged shear steel with asix pinned beechwood handle. 

This knife was used a lot; it arrived sharpened with pits from rust. The handle shows wear, but is now tight and secure with some epoxy in the gaps. The blade has been thinned and re-ground on the faces to bring it back to its original thickness with a fresh, sharp edge.
